Nine full centuries have now passed since Bhagavan Mahavira attained liberation and passed away into a state beyond all pain. of the tenth century, the current year is the cightieth. According to another reading, however, the current year is the ninety-third.

परिनिर्वाण को प्राप्त हुए और समस्त दुःखों से रहित हुए। १४७. जिनके समस्त दु:ख नष्ट हो गये हैं ऐसे श्रमण भगवान् महावीर को निर्वाण प्राप्त हुए नौ सौ वर्ष व्यतीत हो चुके हैं। हजारवें वर्ष का अस्सीवां वर्ष चल रहा है। अर्थात् भगवान महावीर के निर्वाण से नौ सौ अस्सीवाँ वर्ष चल रहा है। दूसरी वाचना के अनुसार नौ सौ तेरानवें वर्ष का समय चल रहा है, ऐसा पाठ दृष्टिगोचर होता है।
पुरुषादानीय प्रहत् पार्श्वनाथ १४८. उस काल और उस समय में पुरुषादानीय अर्हत् पार्श्वनाथ के पांच (कल्याणक) विशाखा नक्षत्र में इस प्रकार हुए- १. पार्श्व अर्हत् विशाखा नक्षत्र में स्वर्ग से च्युत हुए और च्युत होकर गर्भ में आये, २. विशाखा नक्षत्र में उनका जन्म हुआ, ३. विशाखा नक्षत्र में उन्होंने मुण्डित होकर, गृहवास का त्यागकर अनगारत्व स्वीकार किया, ४. विशाखा नक्षत्र में इन्हें अन्तरहित, सर्वोत्कृष्ट निर्व्याघात, यावरण रहित, सम्पूर्ण और परिपूर्ण अनुत्तर केवलज्ञान और केवलदर्शन प्राप्त हुप्रा और ५. विशाखा नक्षत्र में ही वे निर्वाण को प्राप्त हुए।
The Life of Pārsva 148. Atthat time, in that epoch, five important events in the life of Arhat Pārsva, the Chosen One, all occurred when the moon was in conjunction with the constellation visakha. During such a conjunction, he descended and was conceived unto a womb. Then during a similar conjunction he was born. Again, during a like conjunction, he pulled out his hair and became a homeless mendicant. It was during another such conjunction that he attained that supreme knowledge (kerala-jilana) which is ultimate, infinite, unobstructed, unclouded, total and all-embracing. Finally, during this very conjunction, he attained parinirvana.
