________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir Darbar Hall Museum, Diwan Chowk, Junagadh : The museum was founded in 1947. There are five different categories of ex hibits. They include weapons, oil paintings, miniature paintings, photographs of histori cal importance, royal palanquins and "hoddas" textile and carpets, royal furniture belonging to the Babi ruler of Sorath (the Ex-rulers of the old Junagadh State). Th museum is famous for special collections like royal furnitures, silver thrones, silve chairs, carpets with gold embroidery, various types of zummars (chandeliers), mirrors silver art objects, etc. the most important gallery of the museum is the Darbar Hal which is a period room representing the royal assembly hall of the ex-rulers of the ol Junagadh State. It has put on display the then 'Darbar' in its original settings so tha people may get an idea of the royal court and assembly hall of the pre-independenc period. The museum is also noted for its special collection of royal arms and the gallery especially created for their display is known as 'Silehkhana' presening differen categories of daggers, swords, knives, fire arms, spears, shild decorated with gold precious and semiprecious stones. The collection of historical photographs are very rar and interesting and reveal the historical background of ex-rulers of Saurashtra. Watson Museum, Jubilee Garden, Rajkot : The museum was established in 1888. There are at last 25 categories of exhibit: and they include sculptures, coins, bronzes, miniature paintings, manuscripts, textiles silver work, copper plate grants, natural history specimens, anthropohogical collection musical instruments, (Darbar Hall) wood carving, handicrafts, etc. Nearly 26,000 exhib its are in possession of the museum. Saputara Museum, Saputara, District Dang: The museum was established in 1970. This is a museum devoted to tribal ar and culture. There are four main categories of exhibits and they include tribal musica instruments, tribal costumes, tribal ornaments, prehistoric tools of the Dang area, etc There are nearly 420 exhibits in the possession of the museum. This is the Governmen museum devoted to the art and culture of the Dangi tribes of the South Gujarat. Prabhas Patan Museum, Prabhas Patan, District Junagadh : The museum was established in 1951. There are three major categories o exhibits. They include objects of art and archaeology, few specimens of natural history The muscum is famous for stone sculptures, and stone inscriptions. There are nearly 3,500 exhibits in the possession of the museum. Shamlaji Museum The museum was established 1992 at Shamlaji. There are major categories o exhibits.
