The Women's Interfaith Institute's healing liturgies are planned and developed by a group of dedicated and gifted members who represent Protestant, Roman Catholic, Jewish and Unitarian faith traditions. This group meets regularly to study Biblical texts, share sometimes widely differing interpretations, offer personal stories, issues, and ideas, then strive together to design worship services that will help bring healing, hope, and meaning to persons of diverse religions, or none at all, who have suffered abuse, violence or the loss of a child. Women and men who have attended these liturgies have reported the experience to be an extremely important, and out of the ordinary, gift. The services have sometimes helped women to deal with woundedness caused by religious teaching
or institutions.
