Community Wide Dialogue on Racism, Race Relations and Racial Healing
Community Wide Dialogue (CWD) helps the Central New York community build trust and increase understanding necessary for finding common ground, developing relationships across racial divides, and working together toward action. The heart of CWD process is the dialogue circle which consists of 12 to 15 people from different genders, races, religions, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds. The Circle meets for six consecutive weeks for two-hour sessions lead by two racially diverse facilitators and a discussion guide that structures the dialogue. The program provides a safe and effective process for participants to talk about and work on issues of racism and race relationships with people from different racial, ethnic, religious, socioeconomic, and ideological backgrounds. The Peace People
kedvencekh
The Peace People was founded by Mrs. Mairead Corrigan-Maguire in 1976, as a protest movement against the on-going violence in Northern Ireland. The organization is committed to building a just and peaceful society through nonviolent means -
a society based on respect for each individual, and has at its core the highest standard of human and civil rights. The Peace People organization works to create dialogue on the type of future we want for ourselves and our children. With its long experience of peace-building and many contacts throughout the world, Peace People is able to bring new ideas to the old problems of Northern Ireland through public meetings, campaigns, information resources and informal education, which are all used to promote creative nonviolent visions for the future.
