Personal Perspectives of Members on Impact of Jain Center in Their Lives
Saurin Gandhi, age 8
Jain Center gives me a chance to visit a nice and peaceful place where I can come and worship God. Jain Center affects my life by teaching me prayers and religious things about our Jain religion and our 24 Tirthankars.
Jain Center affects my life by making me learn lots of things about non-violence and lots of things about the evils of egoism. Jain Center also helps me learn my mother tongue - Gujarati and new stories about religious people. Jain Center lets me participate in cultural and religious functions. Jain Center makes me learn lots about respecting elders and bowing down to elderly people. Jain Center tells us to not eat meat or use anything from killing of animals and other living things. Jain Center makes us learn whenever we enter the temple and meet other Jain friends, it is good to greet with 'Jai Jinendra.' Jain Center affects my life by making me learn not to be destructive. Jain Center lets me make new friends and lets me meet lots of other people, including relatives and friends.
My great-grandfather donated a large amount of money towards the building of a temple in Bombay, India. So I am very proud and happy to be a part of that family and to be a Jain. We are Life Members of the Jain Center and I am happy to see that the Jain Center is becoming bigger here in Los Angeles and one of the best in the U.S.

One thing that Jain religion says is that if we do everything good we can also be God.
