This is a universal theme, one that is sadly being ignored in many parts of the world. But your example will influence others, and they in turn will influence still more. Yours has been a beneficial influence on our culture.

I am happy to welcome you to Pittsburgh and to Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh, with its many temples and churches and educational facilities, is a beautiful city. I am pleased to share with those of you unfamiliar with the city the hospitality and graciousness of the residents. While you are here I invite you to sample the many famous cultural and recreational opportunities Pittsburgh offers.
I regret that I am not able to join you on July 2, 1993, but please accept my best wishes for a successful and interesting convention.
Sincerely,
