"Wheels of Hope"-JAINA and World Medical Relief relationship started in the year 2002. In last 3 years, with help of World Medical Relief, JAINA accomplished a number of amazing projects in India:
"Wheels of Hope" is the program under which JAINA has shipped 21- 40 ft. long, 10ft. high, 10ft wide containers- to India; 8 of them from World Medical Relief, Detroit, MI.

"In recognition of continuous good work for thousands of hurting people in India and other nations, we bestow the Outstanding Commitment to Health care Needs of the Global Community Award upon JAINA" said Sherry Margolis, the Mistress of Ceremonies on behalf of World Medical Relief to the audience of 400 guests at Miracles of Mercy Gala banquet in Detroit, MI on March 6,2004. Kirit Daftary, First Vice President of JAINA and Ramesh & Dr. Jaya Shah accepted the award on behalf of JAINA. 20 members of Jain Society of Greater Detroit, MI were also present at the ceremony. JAINA was given the opportunity to make a Power Point Presentation of "Wheels of Hope” Program.
Dr. Tansukh Salgia has received 2004 "Award of Excellence" from International Jain Sangh of NJ at the Mahavir JAYANTI Celebration Program on April 4, 2004. Each year, IJS honors an exceptionally worthy prson, who has visibly and verifiably demonstrated a great service to further the teachings of Lord Mahavir including peace, nonviolance, Jain education, and compassion either by practice or by influencing public policies, media coverage or through interfaith programs.
In his acceptance speech Dr. Salgia called for all the Jains to unite, be proud to be a Jain and assert their Jainness in a positive manner. Dr. Salgia is a past President of JAINA and founder or cofounder of Siddhachalam, Jain Society of Greater Cleavland, Mahavir world Mission, Bramhi Jain Society and international publication Jain Spirit'. Dr. Salgia has received many honors including JAINA RATNA Award.
13th Biennial JAINA Convention will be held at Santa Clara, California
JAINA announces the selection of Jain Center of Northern California (JCNC) to host 13th Biennial Convention. JAINA and JCNC selected the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California as the venue for the convention which will be held from July 1 to 4, 2005. A joint Board has been established to oversee the convention. The members of the Convention Board include Kirit Daftary as Convener, Anop Vora (President of JAINA), Dilip Punatar, and Samprati Shah representing JAINA; and Girish Shah as Co-Convener, Bipin Shah (President of JCNC), and Hasu Shah representing JCNC. The convention which is expected to draw over 5,000 attendees will include lectures by prominent Jain scholars from all over the world, sermons by Jain gurus, panel discussions, workshops, cultural programs, alumni gatherings, exhibitions and youth competitions. JAINA organizes these national Jain conventions every two years with last one being held in Cincinnati, OH. These conventions have been very popular and have been attended by residents from the U.S., Canada, and Overseas.
