Kunal Fadnis (16) from Baroda, a handsome, enthusiastic and energetic young man, is a volunteer to help to make prosthesis for the victims of the earthquake. It was very difficult to know that he had lost his both legs in the earthquake of 2001. He said that he could play basketball and can dance with the artificial limbs provided by SBST. "I also drive the car and my desire is to give dance performances in USA and UK." He smiled and happiness on his face was priceless.
Aminaben. a young woman was a victim of the earthquake, who lost one of her two daughters and was suffering from spinal cord injury said, "Today I can stand up only because of care and help of Mukeshbhai Doshi and staff of SBST. Now I am able to make living by working as a beautician."
Dr Mrudula Shah, Occupational Therapist from UK visited SBST for the first time and working 16 hours a day said that to be able to help other human beings was a great experience but it was very sad to see so many people suffering. "They need help and it is our duty to help them at our best. I will be coming next year again," she said.
Vijay Chheda, one of the trustees residing in California informed about the growth of the Trust in the past 30 years and have more than 34 medical specialties like-General Surgery, cancer, diabetic, endocrinology, urology, gastroenterology, squint eye, asthma and allergy, orthopedic, rehab medicine, arthritis, psychiatric, cardiology, rheumatic heart, ENT, dermatology, eye camp. Dental cap, pediatric, pediatric surgery, pediatric orthopedic, pediatric urology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric hematology/oncology, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric neurology, gynecology, epilepsy were treated in SBST. "This year 5433 patients for eyes, Cardiac 340, and pediatric 795 patients were treated. A total of 22,053 patients were treated during this camp which ended on January 20 sending the patients home with a gift of smile, sweets and clothes.
