Dear fellow Jain community member,
As we start our last "Letter from the Co-Chairs," we are filled with bittersweet emotions. While it is difficult leaving an organization that we have worked tirelessly for for the last two years, we are confident that the new YJA Executive Board will continue the tradition of excellence that their predecessors have hoped to impart.
Our tenure as YJA Executive members has truly been a life changing experience. We arrived two years ago eager and filled with youthful energy. We leave with the same energy, but also with a sense of maturity and confidence that would not have been present within us without YJA.
With the successful completion of the 3rd Biennial Young Jains of America Convention, we now pass the torch to a new group of energetic board members. We are certain they will make us proud.
Our success in the last two years would not have been possible without the love and encouragement of countless people. The JAINA Executive Committee, first under the leadership of Dr. Manibhai Mehta, and now under the leadership of Dr. Dhiraj Shah, has provided us innumerable pieces of advice and guidance. The YJA Advisory Board has helped our organization grow leaps and bounds. The knowledge they have imparted to us is immeasurable. Finally, we would like to thank you, our members, for making our last two years so wonderful.
As we leave you with this heartfelt and tearful goodbye, we have but one request. We want you, our youth, our membership, to be proactive. We need you to help the 1998-1999 YJA Executive Board take YJA into the next level. We urge you to shed your dormancy.
These last two years will live in our hearts forever.
