The Jains of Saskatoon meet every month for discussions and puja in the homes of the members. The activities are co-ordinated by Atul Jain.

The community organizes monthly meetings for discussions and puja at HinduJain Centre and celebrate Jain festivals whenever occasion arises. H.H. Bhattarakji Charukeeti of Moodbidri visited Edmonton in the summer and delivered series of lectures on Anekantvad and other Jain principles.

Regular study of Jain scriptures is conducted under the guidance of Professor Jain.

The community meets monthly to discuss Jain scriptures and philosophy under the direction of Dr. Navin Mehta and Dr. Nirmal Jain.
Toronto, ON
The Jain Society of Toronto celebrated 1993 Diwali with a variety entertainment programme and a dinner. There was an attendance of over 700 Jain members. The Young Jains opened the celebrations with classical dance and "Mangalacharan". A humorous short play entitled "Aaj ki Ramayan" written and produced by Young Jains captivated the audience. A number of Jain youths presented other classical and popular dances and Raas and Garba. The highlight of the day, however, was a lecture on "Jain Relevance Today" by Dr. Michael Tobias of Santa Monica, CA. Dr. Tobias, who has formally adopted Jain way of life, is a former professor at Dartmouth College, and has written, directed and produced more than 70 films including one entitled " AHIMSA- NON VIOLENCE". He is also an author of 20 books. Dr. Bruce Costain (Balbhadra) conducted Jain classes for children and adults at the Jain Centre regularly in 1993. The classes were well attended and much appreciated.

After Paryusana, the Society observed Dash Laxana Parva from September 20 to 29 during which every day there were Puja, religious discourse and Bhavana.
On October 3rd the Society observed Ahinsa day. Vegetarian food was served on that day in a Chicago shelter home. Consequent upon the earthquake in Maharashtra, the Society started voluntary fund collection for relief work there. A fund raising program was also organized for the purpose and a check of $11000 was sent to Diwaliben Mehta Charitable Trust, Bombay through JAINA.
Since JAINA had organized shipment of usable clothes to India, the Society had conducted a drive for collection of clothes. Those who could make shipment directly to Baltimore were advised to do so. Those who could not do so, were asked to bring their clothes to Jain Center. 35 parcels of such clothes were shipped to Baltimore in time for shipment of the container to India.
Mahavir Nirvan day was celebrated on November 13 with due seriousness. Chanting of Mahavirswamipargatay Namah and Gautamswamisarvajnay Namah was undertaken by the participants.
Election of the Society had been postponed till six months after completion of Pratishtha by a special General Body meeting. Since the Pratishtha celebration was completed in June, it was decided to hold election of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee in December. This work was assigned to an independent election panel. The panel fixed Dec 5 93 as the date of election. Sealed nominations were invited for the purpose and five of the candidates were returned unopposed. Election for the remaining 9 seats was held on the scheduled date from 12 noon to 4.00 P.M. and the results were declared at

The Jain families meet at the homes of the members regularly for puja and discussions. Many young Jains undertook tapascharyas during Paryusan Parva. Muniji Roop Chandji and Manak Muniji visited Montreal in summer and delivered series of lectures and stavans.
Vancouver, BC
Diwali celebrations were attended by many Jains in Greater Vancouver area. During summer, Panditji Dharam Chand Shastri performed pujas and gave a series of lectures on interesting Jain topics.
Ottawa, ON
Monthly meetings of Jains are held regularly to discuss Jain topics and conduct puja. During Parusana Parva, the son of Mr. Balu Kuria performed eight upavasa (fasts).
Winnipeg, MB
The Jain families meet regularly at different Jain homes and discuss Jain topics of mutual interest and celebrate Jain festivals under the direction of Dr. N. Jain.
