The reader may for example refer to a beautifully written book, Jainism - The oldest Living Religion, by Dr. Jyoti P. Jain, P.V. Research Institute, I.T.I. Road, Varanasi-5, India, second edition.
Jainism is found to have existed throughout the prehistoric and historical times under different names - beginning with the Rishab sect, to various other names until Jain or Jina religion.
Jainism is not the religion of any one particular community. it is indeed universal.
May I suggest that some of our scholars may take the lead to present the history of Jainism in our forthcoming convention at Pittsburgh. Perhaps by presenting poster sessions presented through posters in assigned rooms at the convention as may be mandated by time limitations - on various activities, we can be better educated.

Exhibits at Convention will win prize
JAINA is planning to give a prize to the best dispay/exhibition at the JAINA Convention in Pittsburgh.
Jain Center of Greater Boston has already announced that they will be presenting a unique exhibition titled "Jain Experience" at Pittsburgh. All Jain centers in North America are urged to organize exhibitions depicting a theme or showing activities of their Jain centers.
JAINA Executive Committee Elections - Nominations Invited
The JAINA Executive Committee elections will be held at the next JAINA Convention in Pittsburgh, July 2-4, 1993. The positions open are that of the President, First Vice President, six Regional Vice Presidents (one from each region: Canada, West U.S., Southwest U.S., Southeast U.S., Midwest U.S. and North

JAINA is pleased to welcome three new members, Jain Center of Edmonton, Alberta; Jain Center of Augusta, GA; and Jain Center of Hartford, CT.
The number of memberships is now 56. It is indeed a pride for all centers to work together towards achieving our common goals to spread the principles of Jainism in the years to come.
