ACHARYA CHANDANA IN NEPAL
Kathmandu, Nepal. The conference of Hindu Parishat of Nepal specially invited Acharya Chandana of Veerayatan to represent Jain Religion at the conference held at Khatmandu on March 28,1988.

Addressing the conference, which was attended by the king and queen of Nepal, Acharya recalled that Nepal was a place for many saints in pursuit of their salvation, and it is also sacred for Jain religion to the fact that 14th Shruta Kevali Jain Acharya Badrabahu performed penances and meditation.

31, the Jain community of Nepal celebrated Mahavir Jayanti, and the President of Jain samaj, Jyoti Kumar Begani welcomed Acharya Chandana. Many dignatories including Dil Bahadur, Minister of supplies, Nepal and Indian High Commissioner attended the function.

Karkal, KA. Kshullak sri Ajit Sagar Varni, born on 18 June 1943, was coronated the Pontiff of Karkala Jain Mutt on 21 February 1988. The Pontif of the Mutt is known by the name Lalitkirti Bhattarak.
The Karkal Mutt was established in the year 1501, about ago, and it is located in the coastal region of western Karnataka.
