________________ A TREAT FOR THE HOMELESS ON MAHAVIRA JAYANTI Washington, D.C. Recently Washington, capital of America, focused public attention, through a 40-day fast of Mitch Snyder of the Community for Creative Non-Violence, on the plight of the homeless. And now, Mahavira Jayanti '86 has established, for the first time in North America, a new meaning and message through the noble deeds of Navin and Leela Shah of Washington. On April 21 to celebrate Mahavira Jayanti, the Shahs undertook to feed over 400 homeless and destitutes with an Indian vegetarian meal. Mitch Snyder was present at the shelter to enjoy the vegetarian cuisine and to thank the Shahs for their creative efforts. Navin Shah is a urologist and practices medicine in Washington.
