લેજિનાલયની ૧૦મી વર્ષગાંઠ ઉજવણી પ્રસંગે
શુભ સંદેશ
I would like to congratulate the Jain Centre in Europe on its 10th anniversary celebration.
During the process of making the film on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, I became well aware of how much Gandhiji was influenced by Jainism. During his young days he not only read about Jainism, but also met spiritual leaders of this faith. Bapu's devotion to love, truth and non-violence was undoubtedly strengthened by the influence of Jainism on his own philosophy.
I wish "Jain Sama Europe" all the best on the auspicious occasion of your 10th anniversary. May you have great success in your efforts to promote non-violence in a society still so sadly torn apart. by hatred, conflict and bitterness.

Jai Jinendra,
It was great pleasure for me to know that Jain Samaj Europe is celebrating 10th year of inaugural of Pratistha at Leicester.
I felt proud that I and my son Hasmukh Gardi have been associated with the samaj from its inception. Ilasmukh Gardi was vice president when Dr. Natubhai Shah was the president of the samaj.
It was the first such samaj in western country, which raised a temple and served as ideal model and example for starting of other such centres in western countries.
The sculptures of the temple at Leicester were carved in India under personal supervision, guidance and attention of Sheth Shrenikbhai Kasturbhai. I was through out the said period a close associate and trustee with Sheth Shrenikbhai, a trust specially settled in India known as overseas Jinalaya Trust.
I wish the samaj better prospects to propagate Jain ideals and philosophy in western countries and the world when coincidentally 26th century of Lord Mahavir (24 Tirthankar) Janma Kalyanak is approaching nearer.
