Dear
Sharadthai,
19th May 1998
I had the good fortune to be amongst the few to have attended the inauguration Pratistha ceremony of the Jain Centre in Leicester in 1988 alongwith my wife. It was truely an occasion which exhilarated everyone and it was really a good example of how a Jain Temple could be a Centre for all the different sects of Jains to worship. I think this tradition is now generally followed at the new temple complex that are caning up abroad. This is as it should be.
I am very happy to note that you are planning to have special festival for 3 days in the month of July to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Jain Centre.
Jains have a lot to contribute for the well being of humanity and as our esteemed Jurist, Shri Halkbivala mentioned, the 21st Century will be the century of the Jains. However in order to achieve this objective, it is very necessary that Jains should be united and every effort should be made to resolve their differences specially amongst the Jain sects in India. It is hoped that good sense will prevail, to find a suitable way by which we resolve our differences and all stand united as a Jain coronity, and then only the preachings of Jain tenets would have the necessary relevance for all people around the world. With kind regards.
Yours sincerely,
Trosopplarlal Pratap Bhogitat

Dear Sharadbhai.
I am glad to hear that the first Jain Centre in Europe is commemorating the 10 Anniversary of its foundation with a three-day festival of prayer and celebrations
I am delighted to know that 1998 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Jain Centre in Europe. During the past ten years the Centre has been a source of great strength and spiritual guidance for the community and I would like to wish everyone associated with Jain Samaj Europe every success in the coming years.
Religion and religious practice lies at the very centre of the life of a human being and the place where people mcct to pray and serve humanity namely the icmple or centre is vital in promoting religious knowledge and practice. In addition the principle of "Ahimsar non-violence towards all living beings, so dearly held and practised by Jains, is of great importance in today's world. It was the only weapon that Mahatma Ghandi used to libcratc India, so its power should not be underestimated
Heartiest congratulations.
I wish the entire Community all the best on this auspicious occasion and also in the coming 10 years!
