________________ Concept of Suksma Sarira in Indian Philosophy : 59 The development of gross body is based on the concept of sükşma śarīra because gross body can not develop without the help of sükşma sarira. The sūksma śarīra enters in the mother's womb along with the jīvātman. Jivātman is responsible for the development of foetus which is manifested in the form of stūla-śarira. In Samkhya Yoga, citta is the ultimate cause of worldly suffering and bondage. The liberation from pañcamahābhūtas (gross body) is the ultimate object of Vedānta philosophy. References: 1.
