A diet with ample roughage from the cellulose of plants and vegetables is necessary to avoid constipation in human and to help in strengthening the walls of the colon including peristalsis movement food. 72 Vegetarian Diet and Science : The scientific investigations of various food items and estimation of their food values depict that plants are the best sources of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins necessary for proper growth and health.
