[3] Pujyapada Carite mentions his date as 300 Salivahana year [4] Again it is repeated by Devacandra in his Rajavali Kathasara [5] Barrister Jugmandar Lal Jain in his book Tathvarthasutra introduction mentions that the birth of Pujyapāda as stated in the Pattāvalis is the 10th Jestha Sudi Saka year - the date of Pujyapāda is the last quarter of the fourth century, 378 C.E.
Literary references of Pujyapāda are many. He is mentioned by Harisena in his Sanskrit work Harivamsa, Jayakeerti in his Candonusasana, Shubhacandra in Pandava Purāna and Jnanāvarna, Indrabhuti in Samaya Bhushana, Somadeva in Yasatitilaka, and Devasena in Darsana Sāra. It is well noted that from the first Kannada poet Pampa to the eighteenth century poets make references and praise Pujyapāda in all their works,

Sixteen works have been attributed to Pujyapāda. They are:
