Mukhopadhyay) writes (pp. 241, ibid): "The Rasārņava in three vilāsas comprehends, with profuse illustrations, practically all topics on Dramaturgy and Rasa." Vilāsa I refers to Nātyalaksana, rasa-laksana, qualities and classification of Nāyaka and Nāyikā; three rītis, four vrttis, pravrttis and Vilāsa II sāttvika-bhāvas covers details concerning 33 vyabhicărins, 8 sthāyins, aspects of rati, śộngāra and other rasas, sankara (=commixture) and opposition (=virodha) concerning rasas, Vilāsa III rasābhāsa, etc. covers different types of rūpakas and all details concerning the rūpakas such as artha-prakrtis, avasthās, samdhis, etc. For the present, we will concern ourselves only with the topics of the nature of rasa, substratum etc., as discussed by Singabhūpāla in his Rasārņavasudhākara. RS. II. 159-166a (pp. 172, 3, ibid). read as - tad astāv eva vijñeyāḥ sthāyino muni-sammatāḥ sthāyinostau trayas-trīmsat sañcārinosta sättvikāh - II.159 evaṁ ekona-pañcāśad bhāvāh syur mīlitā ime. evaṁ hi sthāyino bhāvāh singa-bhūpatir abhyadhāt - II. 160 athaiņām rasa-rūpatvaṁ ucyate singa-bhūbhujā,
