________________ 24 Devasena Son Harisena SUDARSHAN KUMAR SHARMA Vākāṭakas being Bhojas and Mṛttikävatī alias MārttiKāvata alias salvapura having Jodhpur, Jaipur, Alwar within its jurisdiction, vākāṭakas having had purikā between two vindhyan ranges near Mähismati and on the bank of a river flowing from the Ṛkasavata mountains (A country in Nerbuda) shifted to Nandivardhana near Ramteka about 13 miles north of Nāgapura also identified as Nandapura 34 miles north of Nagapura, Pravarasena having founded a capital named Pravarapura [Pavanära] [studies in indology vol II V.V. Mirashi]87 a small village on the right bank of the Dham 6 miles from Wardhan the Nagapura Wardha Road, the area of Mṛittikāvatī (Jodhpur, Jaipur and Alwar) being subservient to their sovereignty, Svarṇacûda, a local potentate hailing from Rajasthāna, could have been a person like Nagasena of Padmavati and Śrutavarma of śrāvastī raising his arms against Vākāṭakas or if any one among the Bhoja Väkäṭakas could be taken up as such he could be Gautamiputra, the eldest son of Rudrasena I or even Sarvasena or one of the two. unknown sons of Rudrasena I suppressed by Samudragupta during the reign. period of Rudrasena 1. SAMBODHI Dr. A. S. Altekar's point of rescue of Rudrasena I at the hands of Bhavanaga of Bharaśivadynasty, his maternal grand father, having daughter married to Gautamiputra, refers to a struggle for dethronement of Rudrasena by his 3 uncles of whom only sarvasena survived and the two having perished affords us a cue to the sunrise that one of them could have been Svarṇacuda, the governor of Mṛttikāvati aspiring for supremacy who was in all probability killed by the bodyguard employed by Bhavnaga or Rudrasena I the other uncle having perished due to reasons unknown as elucidated by any incident referred to by Bana or any other writer or epigraphic record, a fact that may come out in due course of time by some unravelling comparative nod.
