GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO UPARUPAKAS... 33 BP. of Sāradātanaya has both "durmallikā" and also "mallika", which we will take up later. Bhoja's durmilikā and ND.'s durmilitā is "durmallikā” in BP., which observes- (pp. 391, Ch. IX/ 51, 52, 53; Edn. Agrawal, ibid) :
"atha durmallika nama praudha-nāgara-nāyikā. caturankā catussardhir, garbhe-sandhi-vina-kitā. vito vilasati svairam, prathamāńke (tri) nādikāļ. vidusako dvitiye'nke vilasat pañca-nādikah, pithamardo viharati titiye sapta nädikāļ, vitādi-tritaya-krīdā caturthe daśa-nādikah. - X/51 caurya-rati pratibhedam yūnor anurāga-varnanam kvā'pi, yatra grāmya-kathābhih kurute kila dūtika rahasi. mantrayati ca tadvisayannyag-jätitvena yācate ca vasu, labdhvā'pi labdhum icchati yā să durmallika namnă. enām durmallikām anye prähur matta-mallikām iti. IX / 52 yasyām udbhavyah syāt purohitā'mātya-tapasādīnām, prārabdha'-nirvā), sā'pi ca matta-mallika bhavati. ksudrakatha matta-mallikā yeha mahārāstra-bhāṣayā bhavati, gorocane ca kāryā anangavati bhāva-rasa-vidyā.
