Whatever we have discussed so far, it is clear that the ancient Indian Philosophers had paid great attention to the analysis of verbal bchaviour. Their entire attempt to analyse the language has been from listuer's or hearer's point of view. That is why we find meticulous analysis of the process of verbal understanding i. e. cognition that arises from a sentence i.e. the $äbdabodha.
As philosophers of language, they took divergent stands-right from saying that language does not speak the truth to saying that it cannot speak but the truth through saying that it speaks both, truth and untruth.
