'What do I want ?' She was going to say something but she cut it short. No., No. She wanted not the liberation or nirvana. She wanted the dreamy days, coolness of the oasis, nectar of the shortlived joy of life.

Still another was blowing the palmleaf to cool her cheeks moist with perspiration. The fourth was decorating her breasts with red powder by the tender offshoot of a tree, while placing her bare legs on his lap with affection the fifth was colouring them with the intensity of a lover and an artist. The smile of the blossomed flowers spread on her lips, she could not tear away her eyes from the scene. She chanted in her mind, if I have earned any good karma by propitiating the sun I may have five husbands like her.
