In 1964, the Jaina Community of India honoured itself by celebrating the birth centenary of Virchand Raghav Gandhi who as a regular delegate to the World Congress of Religions held in Chicago, U.S.A. in 1893, represented Jainism and his great master Vijayanand Suri, popularly known as Atmaramji Maharaj. Among others from India the same Congress was attended by Swami Vivekananda.
