TherearealsoquiteafewHindi andGujaratitranslations.Ihavearrivedatthefollowingtranslationafterstudyingallthe availableonesandtheorigin alSanskritverses. (Icomposethisstotra)afterbowingtothelotusfeetoftheJineshvarawhichareanabodeofwelfare, nobleandgreat,d estroyersofsinsandarelikealifeboatforallbeingssinkingintheoceanofexistence, willcomposethisinpraiseofPar shvanathawhoistheoceanofgreatness, Towhomeventhepreceptorofthegods(Brihaspati), inspiteofhissuprem elywideknowledge,isunabletopraiseandwhoislikeacometindestroyingthearroganceofKamath. 1/2 Comments:ThefirsttwoverseshaveremarkablesimilaritieswiththeBhaktamara Stotra. Thepoetsinboththestotr ashavecombinedverses Nos. 1and2toarriveatthefullmeaning. Boththeversesarethestartingpointandthepoets oftheBhaktamaraaswellastheKalyan Mandir Stotrabowingtothelotusfeetofthe Tirthankarasandaresayingthat nowtheyaregoingtocomposethe Stotra. InIndianastrologicalbelief, acometisconsideredaplanet whichhasdestructivepowers. OLord, howcanapersonlikemesucceedingivingevenageneraloutlineofyournature(oryouraura)?Canayoungo neofanowl, whichisblindduringthedaytime, describetheorbofthehotsun, howeverpresumptuousitmaybe? Thiswordisthecombinationoftwowords'go'and'swamin'meaningthemasterofthe'go'.Inthe Sanskritla nguagetherearethreemeaningsoftheword go': rays(ofthesun), thereforego-swaminwouldmeanthesun; goalsomeanscow,andthereforego-swaminwouldmeancowherds; goalsomeanslandortheearthandthereforego-swaminwouldalsomeantheking.
