________________ 154 GEORGE BURCH (pantheism), and Datta represents Satadvaita (panpsychism). All have developed the doctrines of these schools in original and significant ways. Vedanta is only one among many Indian philosophies, and within Vedanta the various schools have little in common except a firm belief in the ultimate reality of Brahman as revealed in the Veda. But its unwavering search for Brahman has made Vedanta the dominant philosophy of India, and its unlimited scope for new problems and new insights has kept it a living philosophy. BIBLIOGRAPHY K. C.
