एक एक बाल निकाले। ऐसा करने पर जितने वर्षों में सब बाल निकल जावें उतने वर्षों के जितने समय हों उतने समयों को व्यवहार पल्य कहते हैं। व्यवहार पल्य से असंख्यात गुणा उद्धार पल्य होता है और उद्धार पल्य से असंख्यात गुणा अन्द्धा पल्य होता है। दस कोड़ा कोड़ी सागर का एक उत्सर्पिणी और इतने ही वर्षों का एक अवसर्पिणी काल होता है। दोनों ही मिलकर बीस कोड़ाकोड़ी सागर का एक कल्प काल होता है।
