rightly considered to mark an epoch not only in Digam. bar & Svetambara bistory but also in the whole Sanskrit Literature.' His well known work is the Ratankarandka Sravakacbar, wbich means Jewel Casket of laymen's Conduot. His words are admitted as pious and powerful as those of Lord Mabavira. He also wrote several other brcks like (1) Aptamimansa (2) Jina Stuti-Sataka and (3) Svayambhu Sutra etc.
PUJY APADA is also called Devanandi. He was a very eminent scholar of Philosophy, Logic, Medicine; and Literature, Pujya pada (one whose feet are adorable) appears to have been a mere title, which be acquired because forest deities worshipped his feet. He is also called Jinendra Buddhi' on account of his great learning. His most famous works ‘Jipendra-Vyakarna or Grammar of Jinendra . buddbi is well known. 'Pancavasutka,' the best commentary on Jipendra is also supposed to be the work of Pujyapaca. Panini Sabdavatara is another Grammatical work traditionally cosidered to be a comm. entary on Panini grammar by Pujya puda. Vopadeva cou. nts it among tbe 8 authorites on the Sanskrit grammars He also wrote Kalyadakarka a treatise on medicine, long continued to be an authority on the subject. The treat. ment it prescribes is entirely. vegetarian and non-alcoh. olic. * Pujya pada was a triple doctor (Ph. D., D. Litt., :.
