महामानव
( ૩૩–૩૪ ) આવા પ્રકારના અજ્ઞાનથી ઉત્પાદિત અધાગતિને દૂર કરવા અને કલ્યાણસાધનાના ઉત્તમ માર્ગ પ્રકાશમાં લાવવા વિશ્વવત્સલ મહાવીરે મગધ વગેરે દેશેામાં સર્વોદયકારી ધર્મચક્રના પ્રચાર શરૂ કર્યો.
अधिकाधिकलोकानां बोधनाय स योगिराट् । विदुषां संस्कृतं त्यक्त्वा लोकभाषामशिश्रियत् ॥ ३५ ॥
35 He, abandoning Sanskrita the language of the learned, accepted the popular language ( આર્ષમાપી ), so that He could preach to and instruct the people at large.
(૩૫) વધુમાં વધુ લેાકેાને બાધ મળે એ માટે એ ચેગિરાજે વિદ્વાનેાની સંસ્કૃતભાષા ત્યજી લેાકભાષા-પ્રાકૃત ભાષા( અર્ધમાગધી ભાષા)ને પેાતાના ઉપદેશનું વાહન બનાવ્યું.
दिदेश सर्वप्रथमं सोऽहिंसां धर्ममातरम् | आत्मादितच्चोपनिषद्विशदीक्रियया सह
|| ૨૬ ||
36 He at first preached on non-violence (ગહિંસા) the mother of Dharma, in combination with the exposition of the essence of the elements soul etc..
(૩૬) સર્વપ્રથમ એ અહુતે ધર્મની માતા અહિંસાના ઉપદેશ કર્યો, જેની સાથે આત્મા આદિ તત્ત્વાના રહસ્યનું' વિશદીકરણ ગૂંથાયેલું હતુ .
