My dear and respected friend,
Many thanks for your letter of 5th August. If I Could leave Poona before November, I should be glad to visit you at
Beawar. But from present projects I fear it is not very likely unless I would make a special trip for the purpose and unfortunately the distance is rather great. I am certainly going to visit the Jain holy places in Gujarat sometime ( also Gwalior and Shivpuri) but I am planning to do that next spring on the way from the South India ( where I shall spend the cold months in large part) to the north, where I shall spend the summer.
At present I am working on Hindu philosophy with a sanskrit pandit and also trying to learn Marathi with a teacher. Unless I am invited officially to lecture or for some other purpose, to take a tour, I shall probably stay and work in Poona until November and then to go Benares.
If you could keep me informed of your movements after you go on tour, I trust that I shall be able to see you in some place or other. If you go to Allahabad or Benares in November or December we could probably meet there. Otherwise next spring, when I get back to Gujarat, Gwalior etc. I am sure we can arrange a meeting.
