You are quite right in your supposition that I take a keen interest in Jainism and I should have been happy to let you have a short essay on some point connected with your religion and its history. I find however that my time is so engaged with other work which I have promised to undertake that it will be impossible to meet your wishes now. I trust, however, that you would be willing to accept Such essays also at a later date. For the time being I must be content to send you my cordial wishes for the welfare of your faith and my compli. ments on the zeal which you display for the elucidation of your noble religion.
