________________ THE JAINA GAZETTE standing, asking for a searching inquiry into the dastardly desecration of the Jain Temple at Mahgaon in the Gwalior State, the burning of all Shastras and the removal of all sacred images, by a mixed Committee of Jains and Non-jains. Mr. Ajit Prasada presided. Sthanakvasi Sadhus Sumitradeva and Phul Chandjee also addressed the meeting. The Jains observed fast, performed special service in the temples and kept their shops and business closed for the day. The Sthanakvasi Sadhus Phulchandji and Sumitradeva.ji left Lucknow with their Gurujee and another Sadhu and a Brahmchari on their mission of Ahinsa for Bihar and Bengal. They have already travelled a distance of over 500 miles on foot. They are out on a pilgrimage for inculcating mercy and extending protection to all human beings, and for stopping animal-sacrifices altogether. Atmanand Jain Gurkul Punjab, Its 9th anniversary was celebrated at Gujranwala on the 30th and 31st December last. Seth Gulab Chand Dhadda, M.A., presided. Mr. A. S. Satyarthi of Lahore also delivered a speech. The parents' conference was well attended, and the Exhibition, the dramatic performance, and scouting by students were highly appreciated.
