आगम सूत्र ३९, छेदसूत्र-५, 'महानिशीथ' किसी को नहीं होते।
सूत्र - ६९९-७००
तो हे गौतम ! यहाँ इस तरह के हालात होने से यदि दृढ़ चारित्रवाले गीतार्थ बड़े गुण से युक्त ऐसे गुरु हों और वो बार-बार इस प्रकार वचन कहे कि इस सर्प के मुख में ऊंगली डालकर उसका नाप बताए या उसके चोकठे में कितने दाँत हैं ? वो गिनकर कहे तो उसी के अनुसार ही करे वो ही कार्य को जानते हैं । सूत्र-७०१-७०२
आगम के ज्ञाता कभी भी श्वेत कौआ कहे तो भी आचार्य जो कहे उस प्रकार भरोसा करना । ऐसा कहेने में भी कुछ कारण होगा । जो कोइ प्रसन्न गमनवाले भाव से गुरु ने बताया हुआ वचन ग्रहण करते हैं, वो उसे पीने के औषध की तरह सुखाकारी होती है । सूत्र-७०३
पूर्व किए हुए पुण्य के उदयवाले भव्य सत्त्व ज्ञानादिक लक्ष्मी के भाजन बनते हैं । भावि में जिसका कल्याण होना है वो देवता की तरह गुरु की पर्युपासना करते हैं। सूत्र - ७०४-७०६
कईं लाख प्रमाण सुख देनेवाले, सेंकड़ो दुःख से मुक्त करनेवाले, आचार्य भगवंत हैं, उस के प्रकट दृष्टान्त रूप से केशी गणधर और प्रदेशी राजा हैं । प्रदेशी राजा ने नरक गमन की पूरी तैयारी कर दी थी । लेकिन आचार्य के प्रभाव से देव विमान प्राप्त किया । आचार्य भगवंत धर्ममतिवाले, सुंदर, मधुर, कारण, कार्य, उपमा सहित इस प्रकार के वचन के द्वारा, शिष्य के हृदय को प्रसन्न करते-करते प्रेरणा देते हैं। सूत्र - ७०७-७०८
पचपन क्रोड़, पचपन लाख, पचपन हजार पाँच सो पचपन क्रोड संख्या प्रमाण यहाँ आचार्य हैं उसमें से बड़े गुणवाले गुणसमूह युक्त ऐसे होते हैं कि जो सर्व तरह के उत्तम भेदों द्वारा तीर्थंकर समान गुरु-आचार्य होते हैं । सूत्र- ७०९
वो भी हे गौतम ! देवता के वचन समान है । उस सूर्य समान अन्य आचार्य की भी चौबीस तीर्थंकर की आराधना समान आराधना करनी चाहिए। सूत्र - ७१०
