Self subjection does not in Jainism mean the destruction of all the self but it is only a subjection that raises man's higher nature s'ipreme. Nor is self-conquest the end and aim of man. Truly does Shri Gunbhadra start his “ Self-discipline ” KHATIATH by telling his self“ Oh soul! greatly doest thou fear misery and long for happiness.
