Verses 56, 57
situations when it is fed with the objects of the senses and also when it is not fed with the objects of the senses.
किं मर्माण्यभिनन्न भीकरतरो दुःकर्मगर्मुद्गणः किं दुःखज्वलनावलीविलसितैर्नालेढि देहश्चिरम् । किं गर्जद्यमतूरभैरवरवान्नाकर्णयन्निर्णयं
येनायं न जहाति मोहविहितां निद्रामभद्रां जनः ॥५७॥
अर्थ - हे भव्यजीव ! क्या अत्यन्त भयानक पापकर्मरूपी मधुमक्खियों के समूह ने इस प्राणी के मर्म को नहीं विदीर्ण किया है? अवश्य किया है। क्या दुःखरूप अग्नि की ज्वालाओं से इसका शरीर चिरकाल से नहीं व्याप्त किया गया है? अवश्य किया गया है। क्या इसने गरजते हुए यम (मृत्यु) के बाजों के भयानक शब्दों को नहीं सुना है? अवश्य सुना है। फिर क्या कारण है जो यह प्राणी निश्चय से दुःखोत्पादक उस मोहनिर्मित निद्रा (अज्ञान) को नहीं छोड़ रहा है?
O worthy soul! Has not the terrible assembly of evilkarmas, like a colony of the bees, stung and wounded the vitals of the man? Has his body not been set ablaze, for a long time, by the flames of the fire of suffering? Has he not heard the dreadful sound of the thundering bugles of death? Then why does he not give up the delusiongenerated slumber that is sure to give rise to grief?
