________________ Ātmānuśāsana आत्मानुशासन in which the world (all sense-objects) appears to be just like an atom. This be the case, how much can each living being get? Almost nothing. It is, therefore, futile to carry desires for the sense-objects. Long-life, wealth and (strong and beautiful) body, etc., are obtained from the previously earned merit (punya). The soul devoid of such merit cannot have these attributes even after excessive toil. Therefore, excellent men with discrimination, as a result of their deliberation, are only mildly enthused toward worldly occupations. But they work hard, incessantly and cheerfully, for the sake of their future lives. 34 .........
