Verse 81
व्यापत्पर्वमयं विरामविरसं मूलेऽप्यभोग्योचितं विष्वक्षुत्क्षतपातकुष्ठकुथिताधुग्रामयैश्छिद्रितम् । मानुष्यं घुणभक्षितेक्षुसदृशं नामैकरम्यं पुनः निःसारं परलोकबीजमचिरात्कृत्वेह सारीकुरु ॥८१॥
अर्थ - आपत्तियोंरूप पोरों से निर्मित, अन्त में नीरस, मूल में भी उपभोग के अयोग्य तथा सब ओर से भूख, क्षतपात (घाव), कुष्ठ और दुर्गन्ध आदि तीव्र रोगों से छेद युक्त की गई ऐसी यह मनुष्य पर्याय घुनों (लकड़ी के कीड़ों) से खाये हुए गन्ने के समान केवल नाम से ही रमणीय है। हे भव्य! तू इस नि:सार मनुष्य पर्याय को शीघ्र यहाँ पर भव का बीज (साधन) करके सारयुक्त कर ले।
Like the sugarcane infested with wood-worms, the human mode (paryāya) is purposeless; charming in name only. Similar to the sugarcane, the human mode is marked by internodes (interludes, in human age) of misfortune; the end part (the top part, old-age) is without much juice (insipid); the root (the bottom part, childhood) is unfit for consumption (enjoyment); and it has pores all around due to frightful diseases like hunger, wounds, leprosy, and malodour. O worthy soul! Without delay, make your human mode (paryāya) purposeful by turning it into a seed for the next birth.
