Bonding of Karma (Bandha)
167
The contents of the above paragraph are based on the nature of the eternal soul which is different from the material things, material Karma, and psychic Karma. One who realizes this fact is an enlightened being or a SamyagDrşti or a Jñānī. Ācārya Kundakunda is not ending this description here. In stanza 285, he is covering that point which might be coming in the minds of many readers. Here Ācārya Kundakunda says that if one identifies oneself, in real sense, with psychic Karma, emotions, material things or physical body then he is a doer. He is a MithyāDrști or unenlightened because he is not realizing the tenet described in the stanza, stanza 284. Such a being thinks that he has been the doer of many good and bad actions with other persons and things in the past and shall do so in the future also. In this way by ignorance he becomes the doer of Apratikramaņa and Apratyākhyāna. As explained earlier (see stanza 282) he gets Kārmika bondage due to such ignorance of doership. आधाकम्मादीया पोग्गलदव्वस्स जे इमे दोसा।

Adhaḥ-Karma and the like are the transgressions of matter. Then how can an enlightened soul be the doer of these which are
