Running away from the spirit of non-cooperation would certainly result in a dangerous situation. At the same time, it is also true that those against whom we are using the weapon of non-cooperation would certainly feel hurt by it. Nevertheless, compassion does not necessarily mean that nobody will be hurt and the compassion I learnt from Shrimad did not say that. Even if our piousness and the sacred activities that we are undertaking result in hurting anyone, we should not leave the path that we have chosen, merely because it hurts some people. I have repeatedly said in the past, "I have learnt many things from many people so far. But the most that I have learnt from any single person is from Shrimad Rajchandra. I have learnt compassion from his life." There cannot be any act on the part of anyone that does not hurt someone or the other, but that hurt should also be the result of compassion. It implies two conditions: 1. We should feel more hurt than the hurt that we cause to others. It is only under such a condition that we should continue to engage in such an act. 2.
