शेर ने अब मांस खाना बंद कर दिया। भोजन न मिलने से उसका शरीर कमजोर हो गया। अब वह हिल भी नहीं सकता था। उसे मरा हुआ जानकर कौवे और चील आदि पक्षी उसका मांस खाने लगे। कुछ समय बाद बहुत शांतभाव से उस शेर की मृत्यु हो गई।
