Now Karma-bhumis are those regions of the universe where various karmas (or works) such as warfare ( sifa ), commerce, religion and writing etc. (fe), and agriculture (He) etc. are done, and where there are opportunities of hearing and practising religion consisting of renunciation and asceticism. The regions where no suoh karmas or actions are done are called 'Akarma-bhamis. In such lands all the
