for the cost of publication upon the support of enlightened princes. In order to give such aid to authors some enlightened Darbars and generous Gentlemen have presented to this Society funds ranging from Rs. 500 to 7500 with directions to apply the interest on them annually towards the composition and publication of useful works in Gujarati. The list of publications given in the last annual report of the Society will show what useful work is being done in that direction on this system by the Society. · The Committee beg leave to express their admiration of Your Highness' liberal educational policy and judicious charity and express a hope that the growth of a useful and entertaining literature will also have its share of Your Highness' attention,
