No. 6.-INSCRIPTION OF THE TIME OF HAMMIR OF RANTHAMBHOR,
DATED (V.S.) 1345.
By R. R. HALDEB, RAJPUTANA Museum, AJMER This inscription is engraved on a stone slab which is built into a niche of the reservoir in front of the temple of Kavälji (Kapalībvara) lying in the Balvan estate of the Kotah principality of Rajputānā. It was discovered by Rai Bahadur Pandit Gaurishankar Hirachand Ojha, who gave a brief account of it in the Annual Report of the Rājputānā Museum at Ajmer for the year 1920-21. It is in a good state of preservation. On account of its importance for the history of the Chauhāns of Ranthambhor as well as the Paramāras of Mälwå, a detailed notice of it seems to be necessary, and is given below with the text based on the ink impressions kindly placed at my disposal by the said scholar.
+ Superfluous.
The syllable pha is written below the line. . Read blusaphala- as in other inscriptions • The second balf of verse 10 is missing.
