! Reference to Inscription No. 30 of the Nagamangala Taluq (line 56) Ep. Carn. Vol. IV, Pt. ii, and its translation by Rice (p. 120, 1.1) to which Mr. N. Lakshminarayana Rao has drawn my attention, would suggest that the reading is. Dhoyi payyana marmmath or possibly mamma th. If that is so, Davala would be the son of MAhavarotti and grandson of Dhöyipayya. See p. 317 above, last part Kittel, bowovor, gives momma but not namwal or marnıma, in the sense of grandson-Ed.]
