TRANSLATION. As it was steeped in the moon's light, the birds with their months (bills) sharp at the ontside picked at the dead bodies and drank the blood) of those who fell in the battle of Marangür fought by Maran, the lord of Vallam which is surrounded on all sides by water ; and went away.
