THE FIRST DIVISION In that age, at that time, there was a city, named Campa; a sanctuary, Punnabhadda; a wood, [a description]. In that age, at that time, the reverend Suhamma arrived. The congregation went out [until] went back. In that age, at that time, the disciple of the reverend Suhamma, the reverend Jambū (until] waited upon him. Thus he said,
“ If, sir, this matter of the seventh Scripture, the Fortunes of the Worshippers, has been preached by the Ascetic, the firstmaker [ until ] attained, what matter is preached, Sir, of the eighth Scripture, the Fortunes of End-winners, by the Ascetic, the first-maker (until] attained ? "
“Thus, verily, Jambū, eight divisions of the eighth Scripture, the Fortunes of the End-winners, are preached by the Ascetic. [until] attained.” . . “ If, Sir, eight divisions of the eighth Scripture of the Fortunes of the End-win
