छन्दोदर्शनम्
You are my protector on earth. You are the house-holder or the master of the house, the Earth. You are Brahmanaspati, the generator of my speech and you are my prānas, or life-force. You are the sacred Lord of the Sky. You are established in this world, and are known as Vaiśvànara.
अन्वयभाष्यम् ।
"
हे अग्ने ! त्वं मे पृथिव्यां अविता रक्षकः, गृहपतिः आहवनीयादिरूपत्वात् त्वं मे वाच: जनिता जनयिता ब्रह्मणस्पतिः प्रणवरूपत्वात् त्वं मे सर्वे प्राणाः मुख्यप्राणरूपत्वात्, मध्यमो हि अग्निः मुख्यप्राणरूप : वैद्यतत्वात्, पवित्रः दिवः अधिपतिः सूर्यश्व असि, इह लोके त्वं वैश्वानरो नाम तिष्ठसि एतया ऋचा लोकत्रयाधिष्ठितः अग्निरभिष्टतः इति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
You are my protector on earth. As Ahavaniya Agni etc., you are the master of the house. You are the generator of my speech, the Brahmanaspati, as you are the Pranava ( Om ); you are all my life-force because, you are the chief of them all. Agni as lightning is the Lord of the mid-air and thus the chief of prāņas. You are the sacred lord of the sky, the Sun. In this world, you are the Vaiśvānara, the guide. Thus, Agni the lord of all the three worlds is praised by this Rk.
चतुर्थी ऋक् ।
अ॒न्तरि॑त॒ः सन्न॒मृतं॒ मर्त्येषु यः साकं प्राणैः
विश्वे॑षु ।
वैश्वानरे अस्मिन् प्रति दधाति सविता ज्योतिर्विश्वस्य दर्शयत्
पदपाठः— अन्तः | हितः | सन् | अमृतः | मर्त्येषु

यः | साकं | प्राणैः | पशुषु । विश्वे॑षु ॥
वैश्वानरे | अस्मिन् | प्रति॑ । धात | सवि॒ता | ज्योति॑ः | विश्व॑स्य । दर्शयेत् ॥

You are certainly the Immortal, the indwelling one with the life-forces. You are in all mortal beings, human and non-human, in the whole universe. Savità has placed in this Vaiśvānara, his all illumining Light.
