________________ PAÑCALINGĪPRAKARANAM : 187 Vajjhai payadi neva ya muccai ya jīvo aippasangão | Nissesakammamukke puṇarāgamanami kuo hoi? || 95 || Badhyate prakṛtih naiva ca mucyate ca jīvaḥ atiprasargāt | Niḥsesakarmamukte punarāgamanami kutaḥ bhavet? || 95 || Belief that 'Prakṛti' is bonded and 'Purusa'is liberated' is in a flawed strain How can He, whose karmic bonds have been fully shed, 95. reincarnate again || 95 || Having effectively refuted the flawed belief of the Buddhists, believing in the theory of momentariness, the author now avers to the belief of the Vaiśesika philosophy that states, "Prakṛti is bonded and Purusa is liberated," and proceeds to refute this belief by advancing the argument that this belief is also flawed by the flaw called 'atiprasanga' because according to general practice, too, the unbound cannot liberate. Again, he says that their belief of reincarnation of the liberated God is also flawed in that how can a soul that has fully shed its karmic encumbrance come back to lead a worldly life full of karmic bondage? Thus, he effectively refutes both flawed beliefs of the Vaisesikas and reinforces own view.
