366 immeasurable wealth. On the other hand, although Vanchanamati who lived in Anyayapur had sufficient wealth, his nature was bad. He was of deceptive mind and inteligence which befitted his name. His nature was to misappro priate to himself the properties of others.
Once Kshatriya Mahasen set out out far pilgrimage. He had not taken his wife Gunsundari with him. He had kept with him sufficient money and other things. During the course of his pilgrimage he stopped at many places. At last he reached Anyaypur.
Mahasen thought : “I have still to go a long distance on. So I should keep with me only such wealth as would be necesaary. The rest of the wealth may be deposited with some rich merchant.”
So thinking, Mahasen went to Sheth Vanchanamati. Giving him bag, he said :
