At another place the shore of Sarayū has been called charming on account of its being situate to the garden associated with Sakrāvatāra which according to Dr. B. S. Upadhyaya was a place a centre of political activity which included Sacitirtha a holy place of pilgrimage situated on the shores of Gangā quite close to Hastināpura. The outer garden Mattakokila has also been described as clinging to the shores of Sarayū." Gangā has been referred to with variants such as Surāpagā, Bhāgīrathi, Amarāpagā," Tridaśasindhu," Jāhnavi,'' Vyomajāhnavi" Mandākini,"? Nākamandākini," Ākāšajāhnavī,'4 Tripathagā (Sindhu),'' Svargañgā," Gaganamandākini," along with “rasātala' tripathagā, is also known as Bhogavati."
